Ben Boegehold Poetry Reading In-person & Online Online
On Tuesday, April 4th at 5:30 p.m. the Southwest Harbor Public Library will host poet Ben Boegehold for an in-person and online program. Ben will be reading poems that can be found in various literary publications, as well as from his unpublished poetry manuscript, Almanac: Love Poems for the Unrepeatable World, which he wrote in the aftermath of his father's sudden death while preparing for the birth of his daughter. As a nature lover and a self-described existential optimist, Ben wrestles with the profundity of life against the odds. Come and hear poems that deal in equal parts with loss and celebration, grief and joy, set against the backdrop of a beautiful world teetering on the brink of disaster.
Ben Boegehold is a poet, writer, and educator. Since graduating from the Stonecoast MFA program at the University of Southern Maine in 2021, Ben has had a number of poems published in literary journals and anthologies. When he's not planning lessons or scribbling his next poem, he can be found exploring Mount Desert Island on foot and in his 17 foot kayak, or taking on poorly planned home "improvement" projects. He currently resides in Otter Creek with his wife and daughter. Find out more about Ben at https://benboegehold.com/.
