Join us for an Artist Reception with plein air oil painter Vicky Smith on Tuesday, September 9th from 5:00-6:30 p.m. Smith's exhibit is on display from Sept. 4-29.

“Oil paints are luscious and mailable. A pleasure to work with. When painting en plein air the vistas change with cloud cover or the sun moving across the sky. You might get a glimpse of an unexpected color. Absorbing that color into my painting can be delightful.”

Vicky Smith became an oil painter after raising her children and is primarily self taught. She has been influenced by a variety of local artists and enjoys discovering new vistas to put on canvas while painting in plein air. Her work has been in the Northeast Hbr. Library shows, MDI Open Shows, Artwaves Shows, Smart Studio Shows, Bar Harbor Savings & Loan, Jesup Library Shows, Southwest Harbor Library Shows and currently at Nor'easter Rest. 

Smith paints because it feeds her soul and brings her joy. She hopes you see this in her work.
