Hook 'n I Exhibit First Day In-Person
Hook ‘n I Rug Hooking Exhibit | Oct 2 – Nov 1
The Hook ‘n I rug hooking group will showcase a range of traditional and contemporary hooked rug designs at the Southwest Harbor Public Library from Wednesday, October 2 through Saturday, November 1. Formed over 15 years ago, the group meets weekly at the library on Thursdays from 1:00–3:00 p.m. Exhibiting artists include Sugar Fenton, Patsy Fogarty, Chris Grulke, Mary Hays, Rosemary Levin, Karen McFarland, Jan Reed, Nancy Turner, Sandy Wilcox, Nancy Weingarten, and others.
Rug hooking is a time-honored Maine craft with strong local roots. Once a practical way for women to warm their homes and supplement income, it’s now embraced as a creative art form. Hook ‘n I members carry on this tradition by making rugs, pillows, purses, and more. All are welcome to join—whether experienced or new to rug hooking or other fiber arts. For more information, contact the library at 207-244-7065 or visit www.swhplibrary.org.
