All Aboard? Rethinking Transformational Travel on a Cruise ship with Anthropologist Geoff DeVito Online
Anthropologist Geoff Devito is a professional storyteller and is highly recommended by College of the Atlantic professor Sean Todd.
Attitudes toward cruise tourism are generally polarized. Many “cruisers” sail multiple times a year with complete brand loyalty while many newspapers, magazines and blogs regularly publish articles highlighting the negative aspects of the industry. This past year has brought major marketing initiatives from the cruise industry alongside harsher critiques gaining higher profile media attention. As the cruise industry readies to return to service it is worthwhile to look at the impact cruise tourism may have on both visited destinations and the visitor to the destination.
Transformational Travel is a buzzword today and this session will look at how cruise travel may play a role in this travel trend.
Geoff DeVito is a trained Anthropologist focused on innovative, cooperative, holistic approaches to tourism consulting and research.
Headquartered in New Hampshire, with over twenty years experience in the field, Geoff believes, strongly, the current global pandemic offers us all an opportunity to learn more about each other and our shared human heritage alongside our present and historical varied experiences, traditions and cultures.
