"What Makes a Strong Portrait" with Judy Taylor

"What Makes a Strong Portrait" with Judy Taylor Online

Artist Judy Taylor will look at portraits from the early Renaissance to present day and discuss what are the principles that make them strong, emotive, alive and interested in knowing more about the subject.

Judy's training is as a classical figurative and portrait painter in the atelier tradition, and she has an extensive collection of landscapes, townscapes and cityscapes from various spots around the country, including her present home on Mt. Desert Island, Maine,  surrounded by Acadia National Park. Her studio is in the town of Seal Cove and she welcomes visits should you find yourself in the area. She paint entirely from life, whether it is a person, place or still-life. She presently teaches 3-4 painting workshops each year and will be adding a sketch/hike class for the summer in Acadia.
