“Diverse Viewpoints: Contemporary Art in Maine Today” with Suzette McAvoy In-Person / Online

An Allen & Gertrude McCue Lecture

Join us on Tuesday, August 9th at 5:30pm for a hybird event "Diverse Viewpoints: Contemporary Art in Maine Today” with Suzette McAvoy, former director of the Center for Maine Contemporary Art. This program will be in-person, masked, and online.

Join us for an engaging slide lecture on Maine's diverse and exciting contemporary art scene. McAvoy will present examples of the innovative approaches to materials, scale, and subjects embraced by artists working in Maine today. She will also address how social media and online platforms such as Artsy and Instagram are transforming the art market and community into an increasingly global audience. The library is also pleased to announce that this program is the inaugural event for our Allen and Gertrude McCue Lectures.

Registration is required to attend both in-person, masked, and to receive an online link.

Each in-person attendee must complete a registration. We will have a waitlist so register just in case a space becomes available.

For assistance with registering, email programs@swhplibrary.org or call us at 207-244-7065.
